I've liked ExDeath's design since day one, especially the faceless, full helmet, the fabrics below his waist and being light blue as opposed to many other evil characters dressed in purple or black.

Yeah that was weird.

As a lorefag you can read that a lot of different ways:

a. Exdeath really didn't want anyone in there picking up Excalibur so he left his ghosts and a bunch of zombie dragons to guard it

b. There's only one Zombie Dragon & Exdeaths Soul. They're both unkillable but can be shut down for a time. Maybe the Zomie Dragon was some sort of divine protector that was corrupted instead.

C. Exdeath is projecting his killing intent over to keep you away from the sacred weapons. Zemus did it afterall with his malice and breath. Undead zombie dragons are attracted to giant temples and holy weapons

Sephiroth killed a chick and grew a wing. Kefka tossed around some rocks and turned the water orange. This dude split the universe and he's a fucking tree. Fight me
