I think it's genuinely my favorite game on the system >>10619414 explains it pretty well. My biggest criticism is that it's uneven, with some levels being a lot more fun than other levels and that the boss fights kinda suck and are too easy. When it hits highs though, there's almost nothing else like it. That said I fet not liking it, Treasure games in general tend to be gimmicky and so some appeal and others don't. For me I never got the love for Gunstar Heroes for similar reasons OP mentions about Bangai-0, it seems kinda fun but is so easy. I blow through it every few years expecting it to click when it never quite does. Meanwhile Guardian Heroes which is piss easy is a game I think I could replay every day and still have fun. It's a wacky company that way.

The best is Bangai-O easily. That game is pure fun and has some wonderful level design. Guardian Heroes and Alien Soldier are up there too.

Worst is harder. Stretch Panic is their worst game overall but not retro. Silhouette Mirage is pretty fun in the Jap version but the WD port sucks balls. I'm going to go with Light Crusader since it controls shitty for a Treasure game and a lot of the puzzles kinda suck or rely on the graphics being ambiguous.

Is this the reverse of the typical Treasure threads now? I love Treasure, but Stretch Panic and Guardian Heroes Advance suck ass and Gunstar always bored me after a while.

Bangai-O is one of the most fun games ever.

It always has been from my perspective, that's what I'm saying. I don't think it's a bad thing, it's way easier now to look for what you want.

Also to be clear, I don't regard the popular games I don't like as shit. They're just not games that interest me. I think it's great there were and are people enjoying Mario and Gradius just the same as Call of Duty or Gone Home. It might all be stuff I don't like, but if someone else is then good on them in my book.

Whining is intrinsically funny though, so sometimes it's hard not to poke.
