Steel sticks is the best but Im not sure if its reliably available still. Another decent option is wii classic OR gamecube controller to N64 adapter, both by raphnet, they are expensive, but they have perfect analog stick range and sensitivity, and you can remap buttons any way you want and save upto four presents. I also have tired the gamecube style one, but its too sensitive for shooters, for platformers its good enough but it does have its issues, but its cheap and better than non-working one.

>A functional hori 64 pad has incredible precision and accuracy.
No, that isn't correct. You have a fundamental misunderstanding of how the hori joystick works.

Define "better control". If this comparison is to be believed, it should be identical to the default stick's control but clearly it's much more durable which was their goal. If you want a "more sensitive" stick then one that goes way the fuck beyond the limits of the software at its extremes will require less movement to get there because only a small area near neutral will actually register as analog motion. This is a negative to most people though as it's generally considered preferable for the entire range of motion for the stick to be understandable by the hardware.

What's the best way to refurbish my N64 joystick?
