/vr/ - Retro Games

So are there any games like FFIX out there? More specifically, games like it that came out around the same time, and weren't dark and edgy FFVII clones.

So I'm replaying FF7 in steam and holy shit I didn't remember it to be so awesome, I plan on replaying 8 after finishing and then I realized I never played 9 thought I wanted to.

Considering it's probably the least popular Final Fantasy game, does it have any chance of being released in steam? And is it any good? The few people I know that played it told me it was quite good.

I have a weird question to ask, so here goes.

On ebay last year someone was selling a Final Fantasy IX BestBuy demo disc for 20 dollars. I didn't get it at the time because I was thinking he would lower the price, but he never did and It either sold or he took it down.

This was a huge mistake on my part because now I'm so curious to what the demo actually was, so any FFIX collectors out there know, could you tell me what kind of demo it was? Because FFVII and FFVIII both got demo's but it seems FFIX never did, but this was obviously something close.

Playing FFIX again. What's an interesting challenge I can do with this game? I've done a couple single character runs, but those can be a pain in the ass when the party gets split up at certain points.

Bought this on sale on PSN a while back. It is one of the few (good) Final Fantasy games that I haven't played. Is there anything I should know before going into it? Like, big missables, or things that I should look out for?

I'll be playing it on my Vita. I noticed that it seems to support analog controls, so that is pretty cool.

Do you guys have any favorite Let's Players who specialize in older/retro games?

Or I guess retro game-based Youtube channels in general?
