What, you mean an official reboot by Bungie? I love Marathon but it's prooooobably not the smartest decision. Look at D44M. The name recognition went a long way to helping the game sell. It is a good game, but the Doom brand has a lot of power, everyone knows about it, even the younger audiences who may never have played the original games. Marathon does not have the same reputation. Only a few people know about Marathon and even less care. You could argue that the Bungie name alone could sell the game, and that is true, but I feel like a modern audience would not like a Marathon game has to offer. I think a Marathon reboot would ultimately end up just being a Halo clone. I think things core to the Marathon experience, being info terminals and abstract level design, would probably be cut in favor of cutscenes/dialogue and more realistic environments.I could be wrong, maybe Bungie really has it in them to do the series justice, but I lost a lot of faith after they made Destiny. I would rather Marathon 4 not exist than it be a soulless husk.

That being said, just imagining the possibilities of a modern Marathon game...There's a lot of potential IMO
