TG Cid. Balthier in the PSP port is pretty broken too.

I would say Cloud, but he needs work when you first get him. Cid is stronk the instant you get him.

Tactics has a difficulty that both spiked in the middle and plummeted near the end, once you get Cid you can just bulldoze your way through the rest of the game

I used:

>Ramza as a dual wielding Dark Knight with Shirahadori, 97 bravery

>Generic Dragoon with Doublehand and Shirahadori, 97 bravery.

>Generic Samurai dual wielding katanas with Shirahadori, 97 bravery

>Generic unarmed Ninja with Brawler and Shirahadori. 97 bravery.

>Generic Black Mage with Arithmeticks. Sometimes didn't deploy him, he's OP as fuck.

You will pretty much evade any physical attack if you have Shirahadori and 97 bravery.

I didn't use any story characters other than Cid.
