It's such a weird set of steps to take or at least going out of you way to take, and it was found super early as well and somehow spread like wildfire. Was it found in the US or from Japan?

Like, if it was found before the US release it would've been patched out like how it was for Yellow? So does that mean it was discovered sometime in 1998 or 99 when Pokemon came out in the US?

I don't use chd because faggot mamedevs have broken compatibility already just for chd, with some chds requiring an older version to work. I'm not interested in having to update my roms and isos. Call me a boomer or an autistic archivist, but backwards and forwards compatibility are important to me.

I know exactly what you mean with Zero Mission cause I agree but it doesn't apply at all with Dracula X. Have you even pressed start and seen how the first stage looks, anon? The game looks fucking great, there's no hideous ZM type backgrounds there, they look really fitting and detailed, it's a gorgeous looking SNES game imo.

I just tested the jap version on the 3DS collection and you are absolutely right. Wow. I remembered it wrong for some reason. You positive the Wily Stages don't give you a definitive game over if you get it there or something? For some bizarre reason I seem to recall dying at Yellow Devil years ago and being booted back to the title screen. It was emulated.

Not either of them, and normally I would not compare the two games, but imho New Adventure Island is better at being a pick up and play sidescroller than Dragon's Trap is at being a exploration action platformer. Nice challenge, very replayable, fast paced, no padding, varied and OST locales... Also it's aged great. It's a really good game. Not to knock Dragon's Trap, I liked it when I beat it, but just saying, I don't think it's that much of an insult to the game to compare it to a Hudson classic, there's plenty reasons to prefer one over the other.

Kind of like being offended at someone liking Wario Land 4 over Aria of Sorrow. It's down to taste and they're both good at what they do. Chill anon.

You know, I thought about making an old style jrpg like this with stills for cutscenes. Do you think there's still a market for it or would a creation be forever doomed as just trashware? I know programming and got the money to hire artists and musicians for contract.

Speaking of Top 10's, I'm surprised /vr/ hasn't tried to make a Top 100 games lists like /v/ attempted to. It's would be nice to see a contrast between the two boards, even if the 2018 one was awful.

Although, looking back it probably should've happened around 2013/14 since I imagine we'd probably get some pretty shit games sneaking onto the list like the one we saw on /v/ this year.
