>first game has your magic switch targets automatically if target dies before magic is used, OR if it's a sort of magic where it hits multiple enemies, the 'focus' point switches and it spreads from there
>second game onward does not do this, if your target dies before the magic is casted, the magic fails and does nothing and still wastes MP
