Which is actually what I'm doing right now, looking for a set to play games up to famicom era, but I'm sure as heck not going to pay such a price for quality I can get for free from another set.

The tv is very cool, though, and I wish I could have it for its form-factor, cool side speakers and its headphone jack in the front.
I'll just wait him out. If it doesn't sell in a month or two I'll start lobbing low prices at him.
