Funny thing is, Nazi's thought they were taking the moral high ground at the time. They didn't see the irony in the way they treated the Jews, Slavs, Romans, gays, and the mentally handicapped and thought that a separate race, separate country policy would ultimately be the most ethical one. Of course their concept of race and cultural identity ranged from naive to fantastical.
