You may be surprised by just how much the modern conditioned consumer mindset completely fails to grasp something that simple. What you like is the right thing, on account on what you don't like being wrong by definition, of course. You see this at work around /vr/ every day.

What are the most atypical SNES games? Games that avoid some of the stereotypes the console is known for.

pal snes/super famicom looks pretty nice, curves look better to me than the straight edges.

for me this will forever be peak retro gaming. it just sent downhill after that and 3d ruined so much. they should have waited 2 more years until 3d got better. don't you sometimes wonder what games we could have gotten if they had made SNES games for 2-5 more years? i really wish that would have been the case.

why do people like this over the NES that had games with substance?

could modfing a PAL system to 60hz give better/worse signal compared to either NTSC versions?

So i have a PAL snes and have been gathering a small collection of ganes for comfy weekend vidya.
But i've been seeing some cheap super famicom games every now and then being sold at good price, could be a fun addition to the collection at least with non-story important games.
Is there any sort of converter cart or some modding i can do in order to play sfc games on a pal machine?

What are some of the best games for SNES?

i really only played: Mario World, Megaman X, Zelda, Final Fantasy games, and the Fire Emblem games on this thing growing up .

Any game recommendations?

Need clarification; I know various 60Hz mods exist for PAL SNES consoles. I have read that they aren't perfect however, and cause flickering, particularly on HDTV's. Is this true? Should I just buy a Super Famicom instead?
I had hoped it would get my original SNES working at 60Hz but won't bother if the results are subpar.

so I want to buy a snes flashcard.
what are currently the ones with the highest compatibility?

are they already at 100% or are there still a few games that still wont work?

and how about rom hacks, do flashcards have problems playing those romhacks?

also do the games run 100% the same as real cartridges, Iam very anal about that part. I mean if it aint 100% I can just play an emulator.

thanks

So, /vr/, i got a problem.
I moved lately and so I had to pack my snes and stuff.
Now i plugged it into another TV and it doesnt work anymore, at least not like it used to.
I plugged it over scart into a small lcd. Now, when I turn it on it just shows like the first 5 seconds and afterwards the screen turns black and i only got sound left. So pls tell me, how do i fix this shit?
And yeah, i tried different games and it is the same with all of them.
Also SNES General.

My friends, some questions about a PAL modded SNES (50/60Hz switch, region mod, flap mod):
1. Will this play ALL games, and in correct speed as well? Terranigma in English 60Hz for example.
2. Any drawback to above unit?
3. Am I better off with seperate EU SNES and US SNES units?

Sup /vr/

I'm looking for one or two good RPGs on the SNES/Super Famicom to play over the holidays. I've already played through the Final Fantasy games, Chrono Trigger and Earthbound and liked all of them (well, FFIV not so much, but the others). I generally prefer turn-based RPGs to action RPGs. Also I don't speak moon so it needs to have a good translation.

I know that I can find plenty of SNES RPGs using google, and I know about games like Metal Max, Romancing Sa-Ga, Dark Half, Tales of Phantasia etc. but there are so many of them and there seem to be lots of mixed opinions out there so I don't know which one to play, so let's hear your opinions on good SNES RPGs. Which ones are the best? Which ones should be avoided?

So I've been trying to find an accurate SNES color pallet, but I keep finding different answers for the actual one. So what the fuck colors can this thing use?

So, do a snes pal game runs with that typical pal slowdown or it runs at a normal speed when played on a american snes or a super famicom?
