He's right though. The only "bad" parts of SA1 are the fishing segments and even those can be completed in five mintues or less, and Big's story is the shortest of the game clocking in at around an hour.

>Then why was he in the game in the first place
Yeah I can't defend that. All I can say is that people greatly exaggerate his negative impact on the game to the point of absurdity. Amy's story is dull, but also really short, and Gamma's gameplay is actually pretty fun if a bit easy. Everyone else was alright for the most part.

And if we're talking about the "jankiness" of SA1, the Director's Cut is usually what people are referring to and that version is twice as janky as its original counterpart. And if we aren't talking about that, all I can say is stop trying to break obviously scripted sequences and the game is suddenly much more playable.

The truth is, all the memeing aside, SA1 isn't a great game. It's not even a good game, really. It's just an okay game that was impressive at the time of its release and was also Sonic's first official 3D game, so I think we can grant it a little awkwardness. (Mario 64 is a totally different type of platformer don't even start with that shit. I know you faggots are out there.)

Everything that came after SA1 should've known better, though. It was all downhill after SA1, sadly.
