/vr/ - Retro Games

In an alternate universe, SEGA has never received the Sonic pitch. Instead another Master System/Mega Drive IP has to be it's own poster boy, who do you choose /vr/ and how different do you think things could things go?

Stupid question but what do you guys consider a "comfy" game? I mean I think I have a general idea of it but I'm not exactly to sure. also feel free to suggest any games that fit the category.

Alex Kidd would be to Sonic like Kirby is to Mario, a secondary mascot with no real bad games under his belt, also the janken mini games would die out or stay a small gameplay feature, like the card games in Mario 3. also I think that the exploration and shop mechanics might have been fixed and expanded upon... I put way to much thought into something like this but I seriously wish there were more Alex Kidd and to some extent fantasy zone games.

Why did sega abandon all their IPs for sonic? I mean I understand sonic was supposed to be their juggernaut like Mario was, and I could be talking out of my ass here, but for example when zelda, kirby, or pokemon got big nintendo didn't give up on mario and their other IPs so whyd did sega? also pic related
