**Discussion point about modern gaming**

You do not need to play video games to be a gamer. In fact, my favorite games are majora's mask, FF7, Mario 64, MGS 2, Earthbound, and I haven't played a single one of them. Let that sink in.

Alright, now that you're sputtering and calling me a lunatic allow me to explain it all on one word: streamers.

No, not the strips of paper you hang up at a birthday party, I'm talking about the people who play video games live to an audience (me, for example).

I'm addition, there are also countless websites that feature hyper-in depth discussions about whatever game you choose. Through watching and reading, you can really get a feel for the gameplay intricacies and the storyline PLUS all the amazing fan theories and art. You get the opinions of video game veterans that understand the fine inner workings of a good game, and their opinions help shape your own after you watch the gameplay.

In some ways you even get to know the game better than people who played it.

How do you guys justify the price of physical carts, a high end CRT, and systems when there's emulation for pretty much every system on every system? I mean, it just sounds like it's all for bragging rights to actually own anything physically, or at least done out of nostalgia. With filters and USB replica controllers, what's the point?
