I remember receiving DKC2 during December before Christmas. It's a fun game, and is a straight upgrade of its predecessor. It's memorable in having both jovious and relaxing sections. This goes for visuals, gameplay, and music alike. It did everything it set out to do, and had a great balance of difficulty.

The one little downside is that DKC2 has a different atmosphere than DKC1. Not too big of a deal, but DKC3 came back to this aspect, which I think was a nice change of pace. I remember DKC more fondly for its more down to earth experience, again graphics, gameplay, and music. DKC2 was more like the TMNT2 of the trilogy. Fun for what it was, but completely different.
