This isn't the problem. IMO a modern flat panel can't render how a crt looks. I find retro games, even with shaders and whatever else don't look all that great on one.

A CRT represents a good value since you'll be able to get a good quality video output without having to spend $100+ on XRGB Framemeisters and whatever else, just for it to look kinda ok.

I have started playing very recently PS1 games on my PS2 on a barely used black triniton my grandma had in her house in some closet for decades.
MIND BLOWN,this looks insane
PS2 is even crazier,480i legit looks better than what I remember HD gaming was on PS3.
RGB-Scart cables ofc and sync on luma.

Does anyone have high quality footage of CRT gameplay? I'm interested to see if anyone has managed to make footage of CRTs look decent on a flat panel display, I know it would be extremely difficult.

Would anyone know what shaders/filters I should use to achieve the effect on the left with a crt monitor? Not a fan of how sharp everything is, I could post a pic of it with sotn if needed.
