N64 has a lot of great games, but people focus on the memes ("only has mario and zelda!" "collectathons!" etc)

If you just wanted a N64 rec thread, you just need to ask OP, no need to do some /v/-tier reverse psychology baiting.

At the time it was the most advanced technology, even PC magazines praised the N64 specs and it wasn't until voodoo 3dfx graph cards came out that PC matched (and eventually surpassed) the N64 capabilities.

The only PC game that rivaled the N64 was Quake, which ironically released a day after Super Mario 64 came out.

other than that, it's subjective opinions. Many people hate the N64 because it's a Nintendo system, other hate it because of the controller ("3 handed mutants lol"), others hate it because it doesn't have many RPGs or fighting games, but all in all people have the right to think the N64 was a great console, just as how you have the right to not like it. But this whole "N64 always sucked" is an unpopular opinion, there's more people who like the N64 than those who claim it's trash.

Sure, we already know the N64's library isn't as extensive as SNES or PS1, and that it doesn't have a big array of RPGs and fighters.... but, being honest, it's always the same 20 games posted in every other console's "best of" thread.

There may be hipsters who like obscure games, but for the most part, it's always the same 20 or so games that lead every console's "must play" list.

I believe so, because N64 emulation is generally unstable, but I believe MN starring Goemon works better than GGA.
