You really are underselling what people want from Sonic back then ,you reek of 2010s zoomer or just non fan
Sonic isn't "fast Mario" he's a physics based platformer. Why do you think people didn't like R or 3D Blast? There were none of this. People want the momentum, it's why people don't want the modern Sonic games past the adventure titles and want the classic game back and why Mania was a massive success despite being told if that came out on the saturn it would have been 06 tier hated.
