I should defend my picks here:

- DQ1 gets respect for being OG, but 2 words: Custom Party

- Loved DQ2 as a kid, but it aged like sour milk. DQ's gloomy atmosphere is strong, but FF2 is the better game

- Even the most hardcore FF fanboi will agree that DQ3 is superior in every way.

- Tough choice, I wouldn't argue too hard if (You) think FF4 is better. But I like the tighter story, love the tragic sacrifice to start Chapter 5 and the "main villain switch" blew my mind as a kid. I don't mind the "Tactics" system, but some hate it. Both games are great.

- Also close.

- Even the most hardcore DQ fanboi isn't going to argue this one. Fuck off contrarians.

- Same. I don't like FF7 at all, but from pure cultural impact on the vidya industry, it deserves its "GOAT contender" status.

- Both games have great qualities, but FF8 has some terrible qualities too. This is where the FF series became movies instead of games.

- DQ9 is a great game with weak DS art, FF9 is a weak game with maybe the best RPG art ever. I'd rather play DQ9 but FF9 is too beautiful. Tie

- FF wins by default, but even if you count the online meh of DQ 10, FFX is the better game.

- FF series just keeps getting worse and worse. Sometimes "don't fix what isn't broken" is the smart move.
