I love both the 2nd game and Shadow Magic to death, but it was released three years too late to be counted as retro by boar rules.

Second is arguably the best of the series and has the preetiest graphics but the thirf went further with the development of class/race system they had in mind. It's worth trying at the very least, even thouugh some of the unit options are retarded as fuck.
