I've been mentioning it a lot in these kinds of threads lately, but I highly recommend Day of the Idea/Idea no Hi. I've only played the first couple hours, but it's a really interesting JRPG and starts off with a pretty fucked up introduction for the MC. It sort of reminds me of a darker Earthbound, and I know saying that is pretty played out, but it's true.
