I think it's fair to say Japan was better at 2D while the west was better at 3D
>the west never made a 2D game as good as Super Mario World or Metal Slug

Actually a lot of console shooters mog PC shooters
>controller is more comfy than mouse+keyboard
>playing on a big screen
>sitting on comfy couch
>games often had splitscreen multiplayer too
For me it was Syphon Filter 2

Doesn't matter, console shooters are made and balanced with controller in mind
