I just finished Rayman 3D on my New 2DS XL.
I gotta say, this port leaves a lot to be desired. In every other version Rayman loses a bit of health after falling into a pit/lava/poisonous water and respawns at the last checkpoint. Non-lethal hits from enemies and environment hurt him too. If he loses all health, you restart the entire section with half of his max health. In this port he doesn't lose health, his health is refilled instead for some reason. This gets rid of any sense of challenge and makes the game ridiculously easy except for the very final sections. Red lums are basically pointless now, it's a waste of time to collect them because you'll be running at max health all of the time anyway. It's my biggest gripe with this port. Performance on the "Old" 3DS systems is also pretty bad, but that can be fixed with CPU overclock on the "New" 2/3DS (XL). And there are more bugs and jank than I remember from the Dreamcast version, though that could be tied to the overclock as well because my game even crashed on time. The music sounds good, it's leagues ahead of the DS port. Why did they remove the Globox village though?
All in all, I'd much rather play the Dreamcast version again on a chinkheld that can emulate it decently or even on a Vita than this.
