This has always, always been a shallow counter argument. You can reverse the same argument and just point out the thin plot of CT. People won't let anyone attack Trigger for being as shallow as a kiddy pool and as deep as any typical 90s anime, but the second Cross comes into the picture?

I love both games, honestly. But CC just outshines CT to me, and a large part of CT fanbase is livid for no good reason than nostalgia and childhood pandering.

People put Trigger on a "lighthearted" pedestal, want characters in smash etc. Cross expected its audience to mature with it, and instead you got kicking and screaming and labeled "GRIMDARK". Cross was not grimdark, it was very upbeat itself, but people miss this because they're so focused on their obsession about what happens to CT characters, I don't know, I just can't take the fanbase for CT seriously anymore. As I mentioned, Lufia as a franchise must be
