It was never a phenomenon over there, since most people didn't have personal computers over there (and most still don't), but among people who did have PCs, and who played PC games, it was quite well liked. I think if they were to release a translated port of Classic Complete on modern consoles, it would probably be enjoyed by quite a lot more people (despite the minor censorship).

I believe the Saturn port had a little bit popularity too, despite the fact that the Saturn port of Doom runs horribly (at least the western port does).
