And there you go. Arcades and home consoles became mainstream in the early 80s. At which point early Xers weren't children anymore.
Magnavox Odyssey sold 300k units in its lifetime. Atari VCS had been on the market since 1977 and only sold a measly 2 million units at the end of 1980. The bulk of its 30 million lifetime sales occurred in the early and mid-80s. Early Gen Xers, who were children during the 70s and adults in the 80s, did not grow up playing video games every day. It's really not hard to wrap your head around this.
