MGS1 was a massive massive success, with one of the main reasons being Solid Snake was cool with 80's action hero cool guy vibes and resonated with people. Making us play as a faggy whiny retard was a bad move and literally everyone complained.
i bought zone of the enders specifically for the MGS2 demo (just like everyone else) and loved it, only to get the game itself and get stuck playing as a character that is impossible to like.
only future trannies and zoomers didn't/don't mind raiden.
