Also, I'm curious if the bottom half can be actually used in the hack itself or if it has to be coded in using asm to take up that extra space or it is hardcoded to not do so. This is something that I always wondered about myself so I hope some anon can explain that to me.

Eggman is too powerful to be killed by a measly hedgehog.

Reminder that CD is flawed but still excellent.

>Are they about killing god and being enlightened by your intelligence, or something different?

This gimmick of yours is starting to wear a bit thin, I don't think JRPGs are for you my man. Play Noah's Ark 3D or some shit if your sensibilities are so easily shaken.

You know, if you still have that Chao Garden save kicking around, you can try to get it working with the Steam releases.

Turns out that the save format didn't change much so it was easy to copy and paste with a hex editor.

Just note that your chao's appearances will be fucked up until they evolve.

>all this sperging out about the fantasy zone and opapa

Tell me more anon. I like this.
I love the idea of the Fantasy Zone being the wildest dimension and THE Space Harrier (this makes him sound like a 1000x cooler btw) makes me picture one of those insane 70s pulp sci fi novels, the idea of a guy being shot through a dimension being unable to stop but being able to dodge and blast shit out of his way is all kinds of entertaining.

>1: Sonic 3 Complete
For the large amount of generally high quality content:
>more zones
>more branching paths
>3 functionally distinct characters
>Knuckles taking different paths through most acts
>improved co-op
>addition of minibosses
>act and zone transitions
>remixed music for second acts
>decent story telling

>2: Sonic 1
Because it feels like a more well thought out game than its sequels (example: rings make sense here as they are required for special stages, you need to hold on to them till the end of the act, and there aren't nearly as many rings or shields as in the sequels, so it takes some skill to get 50 rings and hold on to them, and getting an extra life with 100 rings is much more infrequent), it's actually somewhat challenging, and it has in my opinion the best level design of any of the classics largely because there's no spindash.

>3: Sonic CD
I don't enjoy playing it as much with its focus on exploration, but I can clearly see what it is trying to do, I think it succeeds at it, and I respect it for that and for doing something a little different.
Also, that soundtrack and those aesthetics. Love 'em.

>4. Sonic 2
It isn't as well thought out as Sonic 1 and doesn't have its level design (Sonic 2 has the worst level design of the classics imo, though it's still great) or challenge.
It doesn't have Sonic 3's amount of content.
It doesn't have Sonic CD's uniqueness.
In every area it falls short of some other Sonic game.
