I rented the shit out of DKC1 and was bought DKC3 one xmas, never played DKC2 until I discovered emulation. Only thing I can really say bad about dkc3 is that some (not all) of the art was more cartoony and not in keeping with the other games (the green bees, the underwater levels etc). Music was fantastic (not as catchy as DKC1's themes but more atmospheric). I'd have to say if you played the first world and quit i'd understand why you thought it was shit.

Nothing went wrong. That's why DKC3 remains one of the most beloved game in the series, and commonly wins Straw Polls, despite how many DKC2 trolls make threads with same fag posting to try to discredit it.

Great game, great soundtrack.
