The first game is definitely a bit clunky and quite different from the sequels (not to mention a memory card hog). The third is the most developed of the ps1 games, but Kagero is my favorite. I like how it's left to the player whether to spare the few lives you can or just slaughter everyone who crosses your path

Deception. Although the line between 2 and 3 is debatable. The first is distinctly different from the others with its castle design and monster-making, but it's a bit clunky and hogs memory card space. 3 added more detail in trap-building and an escape roll, but I personally enjoyed 2 a bit more. Millennia is an autistic qt, who likely becomes Astarte in D1.
