/vr/ - Retro Games

>sold most of my collection on eBay between 2013 and 2018
mostly games, some handheld systems but my logic was that I could play it all via emulation or backups. I made a couple grand but these days it would've be worth $10k or more.
>donating CRT TVs/monitors that I didn't have space for
when moving between a bunch of tiny rentals. Should've stored them at a family members place or something, oh well.

Luckily all this barely matters, I have nice consumer TVs, a functional CRT PC monitor and ways to play backups on all my consoles now, all I'm losing out on is a nice shelf of rare games to brag about. and the nostalgia of having the carts I played as a child.

it hurts

I was playing through D1 on PSX last summer.
I felt overwhelmingly sad as I advanced through the game/story because I was doing it right after having played through D2 for the story and....I knew what would become of everyone.
Wonderful, wonderful games but so very, very, very sad.
