Based, can't wait till the Doom 2016/Eternal style reboot of Quake comes, it's in the works and will be announced in 2021. Expect a big expansion of the lore ala the Doom Slayer of nuDoom.

The lore of iDs games, though sparse, is based as fuck. Since the Retro FPS general is just mapping autism, I figured we could have a dedicated thread to retro FPS lore. Games like Blood are welcome as much as iD titles. Have cool pics? Comics or novelizations? Share em. What's your favorite retro fps lore? Favorite protagonist?

Why doesn't Quake 1 have more lore? The setting and use of Cthulu mythos which was the idea of Sandy Petersen is ripe for it, but even fucking Doom has more established lore than Quake.
