Well she was enchanted with Asellus from the start of the game. I really don't care for what is or isn't canon though.

I don't know what you are talking about. When SaGa became more open it became less text driven. Most of those features aren't new to the series as well, such as the settings being existent from the first game of the series to different hero routes from Romancing SaGa.

There are some glitches, though I have personally never encountered (or abused them) like the junk yard one. I don't see how things don't work right, all the races develop the way they should and depending upon the route the dialogue does make sense. I mean in Blue's route it tells you from the start to learn all of the magic. How is that hard to comprehend?

I played Final Fantasy VII years before SaGa Frontier and thought it was dull. It wasn't until I got a PS1 in 2005 that I got SaGa Frontier from a friend. Easily became one of my favorite JRPG's. I don't even see how you can even compare Xenogears to SaGa Frontier. Xenogears has too much of an emphasis on story, to the point that it becomes a tedious trudge to go through the game because all it is is text dumps and cut scenes. Yes I am talking about the first disk. All the other JRPG's I've played before had to the point text that let me play my game and Xenogears didn't fulfill that which made it for one of the more disappointing JRPG's I've played.
