Not perfect, but you can see the point. I'm sure native speakers of each language could elucidate what makes them long/short relative to one another. I know enough about Chinese to say that it has entirely synthetic grammar, meaning that you don't have to conjugate/decline words or add suffixes (usually), you just have to stick them in the right places. The only source of length would be transliterations of foreign names—compare the native word for China 中国 with the loaned name of Kyrgyzstan 吉尔吉斯斯坦. That's usually not a problem, though, so Chinese translators typically get a lot of wiggle room.

I agree, even tho I dont have a retro handheld, only a hacked psp.
