ITT: Meme opinions that need to be extinguished.

>Water levels suck
>Daggerfall is a bad game
>Aerith dying was the saddest thing ever
>Landing the plane in Top Gun is soooo hard

Obviously I have no problem with people who hold these onions. The problem is people who act like their opinions are "common knowledge" and you're a contrarian hipster if you disagree.

This. We should be supporting content creators, not content transmitters. Ever notice the people who complain the most about piracy are almost never content-creators themselves?

Game publishers act like piracy is this horrible unquenchable dark force of greed, but the runaway success of indie games like Minecraft, Undertale, and Stardew Valley shows us that in general, the internet has no problem giving people money if the product is actually worth buying. Doom was one of the best-selling games of all time despite having absolutely no copy protection.

"Piracy is theft", of course, is a whiny emotional appeal that has no basis in objective reality. It's the copyright equivalent of saying "abortion is murder."
