That's comparing emulation. Genesis composite quality is not anywhere near as good as that website shows. The Genesis is infamous for having some of the worst composite quality of any video game system out there, damn near requiring a 32X for its AV to look as good as, say, a Super Nintendo's.

Conversely, its RGB quality is fine.

I made this comparison the other day. Once you go RGB it's very, very difficult going back to anything else.

I still really need a PVM. This TV gets the job done but I need muh scanlines.
