Retro games that sold better on later re-releases.

Pic related: sold poorly on N64 to the point that Nintendo (the publisher for this game) cancel their plans for localization. On the other hand in VirtualConsole for Wii it sold so well that Nintendo funded a god tier sequel.

What are some good actiony mecha or mecha-esque sci-fi games that have a decent balance between story and gameplay?

Stuff like the Megaman X series and Sin & Punishment.

I keep hearing that treasure's shmups are all casual but they're the games treasure is probably most famous for. I like Ikaruga but I have to admit I'm not a shmup fan.

I can say that Sin and Punishment is the best rail shooter I've ever played.
