Varia suit can be reached earlier by using a double bomb jump and jumping in mid-air. Similar tricks exist to get around other parts. People don't generally consider these techniques cheating/glitching (I think some were even featured in Nintendo power), they are viewed more like the undocumented features in Super Metroid, like the wall jump and the shine spark. Those may have been put in the code more deliberately, but allow for similarily easy access to sequence breaking for advanced players.

I like how after Mother Brain joins the party, everyone just sort of forgets that she was a cruel warlord who probably killed thousands of Chozo soldiers, kept undead servants who lived every moment in misery and fucked with people for the lulz.
