I'm 50/50 on this.
Obviously as time went on with the console, devs grew to understand the hardware better, outright pushing it to the absolute limits of what Nintendo initially thought was capable during its initial conception. I feel games like Sin & Punishment and Perfect Dark couldn't be optimized to be better at their current sate, however I think you could definitely make a some mild changes that could boost the frame rate by a few frames that those games could benefit from. For stuff like perfect dark, I think you could outright change aspects of that game to improve performance even just a smidge, like the god awful ghosting effect whenever you get your shit slapped. Maybe even minimizing polygon count with some models and areas of levels. Of course this would take an insane amount of work and all this is merely theoretical, but I know games like Castlevania 64 could possible be optimized a smidgen and deserve a texture rework, but that game also follows in the footsteps of Mario 64 as a team's first time in 3D game development so the second look could be warranted.

so I was fucking around with ZDL launcher and then removed it but now I'm trying to load some saves from a wad I was playing and they won't load. Did I corrupt my saves or something?
