I don't know if mods are discussed here, but I'm thinking of replacing the screen on one of my Gameboy Colors. What are the best screen replacements for the system, and are there any comparisons? I can solder, but I don't want to cut the shell because I want to keep the option of putting the original screen back in.

SRAM alone has basically no power consumption. The battery loses more power from external wear factors such as shock and corrosion than it does from normal operation pretty much, so the battery will basically last for an indeterminate but really fucking long time.

The only time a save battery ever really "reliably" dies is when it's used to power something else like an RTC module.

Probably some Mother/Earthbound 0 on the GBA, since I can't reattempt the screen install and shell swap on my good GBA for the time being. I'm at the end of Doom 2016 on Switch, but I had to three out of my four BFG shots before the final boss, so I don't want to fuck around in it right now.

I've been trying to find a gameboy light for a while now but every listing is either hideously overpriced or a (((((sample photo))))) listing where they're just going to send you busted garbage if you fall for it.]

Worst is a lot of searches turn up results for modded DS lites of screen swapped gameboys. I want the damn electroluminescent screen.

I can still pop in Colecovision carts I buy from garage sales and they still run
