The NES typically got the best ports of early '80s arcade titles, and could be considered the de-facto home versions...at least until "retro" compilations like Namco Museum began appearing in the 1990s.

In particular check out the unlicensed Tengen port of Pac-Man. Though Ms. Pac-Man on the Genesis is even better.

HAL Laboratories did ports of Stargate (called Defender II on the NES for licensing reasons) and Millipede. When you start a new game of Defender you hear a certain familiar tune...I grew up with this game but it's actually one of the weaker arcade ports on the NES.
