Not to say either one is superior/inferior, but I wonder if you could make a game that looks exactly like a Build engine game to a T with Unity or Unreal? Obviously a different aesthetic, but Dusk was made on the former engine and that almost looked exactly like it was an old FPS game engine from the mid-late 90s on a modern source port. I also remember back when Dusk was still in development it had some graphical features that emulated the kinda shit you'd see in a fugly-ass Darkplaces-esque port with """HD""" models n shit. It was obviously a joke thing, and I'm sure it was never intended for the final release compared to the rendering features we got in the final release, but it'd be cool if said features were still in the final release even if just for a esoteric jab at certain source ports.

Hey anon that suggested a mod to change HL1's weapon damage values here. I noticed that there's something called skill.cfg in the valve file of HL1 with the health stats for the enemies and damage stats for the weapons too. Could I just change the values in this and run it ingame?

keep in mind I have no idea how to mod games beyond changing cfgs and inis which obviously doesn't count
