No. It's not. I can hook my NES up via composite to my PVM, kill the bloom and have fat scanlines. It's bloom.

240p has scanlines unless the TV is total shit which only maybe 70% of early 80s TVs are. Even that one macro pic of Zelda 2 Link next to a "pixel perfect" pic of an emulator has visible scanlines. Shadow Mask does make them less distinct though.

No you'll need a $50 transcoder too if you want to output component. Most of us who are that deep have RGB monitors either pro monitors or arcade monitors but honestly the transcoder isn't a bad way to go considering it's lossless/lagless. There was a guy working on actually hacking the drivers enough to get real YPbPr component but last I checked his results were limited while there are hacked ATI drivers (CRT_Emudriver) capable of matching all existing output frequencies for raster CRTs.

But again you need to ask yourself if it's really worth it to you.

Sorry, Man. I just hate when people disseminate false information.

Okay, Trinitron was Sony's branding for their exclusive aperture grille technology. Trinitron = Aperture Grille = square "pixels" that most gamers prefer. PVMs do have higher tolerances and finer controls but the service menu on newer consumer 'Trons allow for surprising amounts of configuration. It's like you don't even read our CRT threads.
>Holy shit I'm laughing.
That's good because it'll help you believe everyone is laughing WITH you.
