Does any other game more perfectly represent the early 90s?

Now that is a real stretch of a list, other than dragon warrior 3 which was 1992, and Metal storm was legit cool but very rare game to see on a shelf, outside of specialty game rental stores. Return of the joker was "just ok" followup to the better NES batman game.

The rest of that list you just scooped the entire year with the offerings from such esteemed companies as taxan, Ascii corp, american sammy, jaleco, HAL and Camerica. Solid 5 out of 10 territory here from an era when the nintendo seal of quality lost all meaning. a lot of these were just "a poor mans contra" or "a poor mans ninja gaiden". Some not terrible, but do you seriously have any of these games on your top 10 list for the NES games that defined your childhood?

I stand by the claim that this was the consoles worst year.

Post retro hidden gems few have played?

I know it came out relatively late in the NES lifespan, but so did games like Adventure Island 2 and Battletoads.
What made this game so low-profile? It's excellent.
