Yeah, gameplay is pretty nuts. it is not that good game but visually amazing. There better amiga games but this one was one of the first show what can be done on amiga.

I'm pretty surprised that nobody posted about the Turrican series. It's not as frantic as Metal Slug or gunforce but the level design is very clever with a ton of secret areas, there's 5 upgradable weapons and nice Giger-esque aesthetics. It started on Amiga but there are 2 awesome Genesis and SNES ports.
