I always figured she'd be higher than the other characters because of her armor, since she is the only one there that is wearing a fully enclosed suit of power armor.

>Other M not being canon
Oh that we can agree on, I dont even play Metroid and I can agree on that.

>What's your best DooM experience?

Probably when I came back to DooM in about 2008 and just played through fuckloads of WAD's. Because there were years of backlogs I could just grab the most standout wads and play them.

I really liked Alien Vendetta but I also love mapsets that use Zdoom features as well. Like Stronghold (but I did singleplayer) and the Shores of Zdoom.

It was a real break from the other types of shooters I was playing.

Probably one of the most standout moments though was the level in Hell Revealed called "Post Mortem". Holy fuck man, that level.
To anybody else here who has played it, it just turns the heat up to 11 it was so fucking extreme.

Especially because I always try to go for 100% kills.

This. The entire point was to use features from today's shooters and carefully implement them into a fast-paced 90's shooter. The player must now learn to think strategically and efficiently, while still being required to focus on ripping and tearing if he/she doesn't want to spend an hour on a single map.

It's about balance. It maintains this equilibrium between strategy and blunt challenge. I don't see it as just a mod to make Doom more tactical. I see it as a perfect collision between two completely different FPS styles that just happened to occur within the Doom engine because, let's face it, it's convenient.

It doesn't FEEL like Doom because, at least in my opinion, it isn't inherently supposed to BE Doom. It's something much different. Sure it's a little rough around the edges. I'm not saying it's perfect, nor am I trying to convince you that it is. But is it so hard to at least respect the concept behind this whole project?

This is the 3d0 doom tune, ''dark halls''

Tell me if I'm alone in this, but while it sounds good does the music sort of ''slow you down''?

Basically, in comparison to other songs can you rip and tear as well to this? And if it's slower and creepier, is that so bad if the level is more action-y?

I liked it.
I'll always prefer "standard" doom map sets like Alien Vendetta and Back to Saturn X to give a more recent example (limit-removing Boom compatible ports basically) but I'll always always always have time for Zdoom.

People who hate zdoom and dot out the same shitty arguments that eeeeverything is overused can crawl away and die for all I care, militant purists who shit on everybody elses attempts at being different are cancer.

Not every zdoom project is Aeons of Death or Doomguys warzone.

Part of what has made Doom remain as popular as it is, is that the modularity offered though the use of so many source ports, editing tools and advancing technology has allowed the game to expand beyond it's original scope while still remaining a shooter at it's core. Because different individuals can make their own projects separate of eachother, this has allowed Doom to offer different things to different people.

WADs are made (and continuing to be made) that play like the original doom, however WADs are also being made which differ in gameplay style from eachother. Examples would include TuroboCharged Arcade, KDIzD, Doom the way ID did, Unloved, Stronghold, Void, Aeons of Death, Brutal Doom and so many others. A result of all these different Doom WADs all playing under the Doom name make quite a few people question what actually constitutes 'Doom' anymore and thus you get radically different opinions on things the community produces; the views expressed over KDIzD and unloved are good examples.

Despite these differences of opinion I'm glad to see there are always new things being made and new mappers and doomers continue to arrive on the scene.
