No, they never added thermal pads to the normal 2S. Like people said, it only really gets hot if you push GC and PS2, those are kind of a bonus, you don't really get to play many games of those.

Yes, but it'd be extremely dumb of them and extremely easy to circumvent.

I feel Deck 2 is 2 or 3 years away and OLEDeck isn't particularly as great value as LCDeck, but yes, if you're not desperate to play the latest movieshit that struggles with 300W it's perfectly fine.

>can't run SteamOS or Batocera
Pretty sure it can, though it's missing some functionality to the former under ChimeraOS, Batocera on UMPCs feels dumb and you'd probably be better off with Nobara Deck Edition or something.

Supposedly fixed after several revisions now, needs to be a recent model though.

And VRR applies to everything, that's just cope. Deck 2 better have it.

What kills the Ally for me is the lack of touchpads and only two backpaddles instead of four, this is something you don't understand it's crucial until you try UMPCs.

No. No, $200 minimum.

>Windows is worse as handheld OS than Linux
Actually true. Beyond the general disregard for the controller-bound experience, one of the few things those fancy UMPC reviews from Gamer Nexus lately revealed is that Windows gets obliterated in some cases and latency is extremely close despite the layer of conversion.
