I have to give it to V for really nailing that jaunty adventure feel without so much of the melodrama that plagued IV. It's a romp that feels like a D&D campaign you and your bros would make that's lighthearted but still knows when to turn the screws. The job system is just icing on the cake.

They're both shit. FFV is the best Final Fantasy.

Is it just me or is FFV the least "Final Fantasy" of all the games in the series?

Don't get me wrong, it was an alright game, but it just doesn't seem as though it should have a number so to speak.


Anyone else feel this way?
If not, what are your sentiments otherwise?

It's the art style. They went back to the super early FF style for them, which is odd because it seems that outside of maybe one Squeenix exec everyone else on earth thinks they look like hot trash.

I'm playing FF5 and it's definitely a great game, the plot is barebones but doesn't get in the way, allowing for great pace. It has good and fair dungeons, the job system is fantastic, the difficulty is just right, battles require more thought than any FF not named tactics... why isn't loved more? how come there are so many storyfags who prefer a meh story (which is the maximum a game can aspire) over excellent gameplay?

This is the first Final Fantasy that forced me to play defensive can anyone tell me what the fuck is up with this game? I played the PSX version if that matters

Yeah this is a fun neat story and I like the characters but actually I prefer the set in stone classes from regular ff games. Idk if I'm unimaginative or lazy or whatever but the tons of jobs means you can break the game if you want and characters don't have a "solid" feel to how they work. But it's still a good game and I enjoy it around as much as 4. I don't know if I'll play 6 right afterwards but it also looks fun.

Which is the best way to play FF5? GBA version with sound patch?

Either way, SNES version of VI is already practically perfect. I see no need for a port.

Hello guys, im having a little problem with FF5 PS1 emulation.
I have ePSxe 1.9.25, and game starts fine but when i choose "new game" i can only hear the opening cinematic but the screen stays black
any tips? for example ff9 runs fine

Final Fantasy V...just started playing it today with the standard Knight, Black Belt, White and Black Mage party. It's pretty fun and can't wait to switch jobs down the road.

This game is hard. I wish it was actually ported to the US as Final Fantasy Extreme, like it supposedly was going to be. Maybe then I wouldn't feel bad for sucking at it.

Oh well. Favorite boss/character? Mine is the timeless Exdeath. His name is the coolest of any Final Fantasy villain yet.

I saw theres one for android and thought that would have superior graphics but my phone is too shitty for that.
