/vr/ - Retro Games

Is it wise to buy the PAL version of this game? I buy a few PAL Mega Drive games because they're often the same ROM as the Genesis version, but I don't know the first thing about the SNES.

Super Alestate/Space Mega Force is a pet game of mine.

Its arguable one of the ugliest shmups ever made and feels like it was still in the beta stages of graphics.

The weapon system is pretty impressive. 10 Different weapons with at least 2 different firing modes for each. The enemies also drop power ups a ton so you can just fuck around and switch weapons every 10 seconds. They are actually surprisingly well balanced.

It's a very claustrophobic shmup and there's destructible environments on almost every single screen (minus the one open space level).
