Anyone who likes classic Castlevania games should also play the old Ghost'n Goblins games. Maybe this one is obvious, so they should also play ActRaiser 2 and Maximo - Ghosts to Glory for a 3D take

If it's too much for you, just play it on easy. If that's STILL too much (really, it shouldn't be), play the Japanese or PAL versions. Each version has its own balancing. The PAL version is easier and even defaults to easy difficulty. The Japanese verison is even easier but you have to play on Normal to get the final level (but that's still easier than the NTSC-U on Easy)

Reminder that if you are a Dracula X enjoyer, you will probably like ActRaiser 2. If the filtering is too much, play it on easy, but don't go for the Japanese version, that version is a joke.

Honestly the reason why this game isn't talked about more is because it probably filters most people
